Gate Inn Millington Village, Pocklington 01759 - 302045 Wednesday Night
Genuine Country Pub in quiet remote village near to Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Owned by George and Christine and had live Country Music every Wednesday Night for several years until 2003 when they cut back to just one night a month. Occasionally have Friday night entertainment. Popular early evening eating place, and has a genuine log fire, which can be a little difficult for the artiste who has to sing quite near to fire, in a tiny space in corner of room. Artist should drive their vehicle onto pavement outside pub, and then carry gear through, although the small room is normally full of eaters as you set up, and George doesn't like the door open too long!
Goodfellows Music Bar Avenida S'Olivera 11, Magalluf, Calvia  Every Night
Live Music & Karaoke Bar in Magalluf, Majorca. Entertainers include resident performers Adam & Stephanie Jane Goodfellow, hypnotist Paul Proto, Laura Quattro (daughter of Suzi Quatro) and Slick M - Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie Tribute. See website at Update December 2005 - Laura no longer sings at the bar, having returned back to England (where are you Laura - keep in touch!) Hypnotist shows twice a week through the main season, Steff does a tribute to Cher / Shania Twain and Adam does a tribute Frank Sinatra. Occasional visiting artistes from UK. Update December 2008 - Sadly the Bar closed in October 2008, and our dear friend Slick M (Manny) died in January 2008 following a Heart Condition.
Goole Working Men's Club Victoria Street, Goole DN14 5DZ Friday, Saturday & Sunday Nights
Members Club near centre of Goole, booked exclusively by Gordon Kellet Entertainments of Leeds. Side loading fire door leads through concert room to large stage with dressing room.
Half Moon 10 Prospect Street, Bridlington YO15 2AL 01262 674418 Thursday & Sunday Nights
Public House in Town Centre of Bridlington. Small room with residency from Duggie Lea, a veteran Guitar Vocal entertainer playing there every Thursday and Sunday night, with occasional Karaoke nights. Also do Pub Food and have letting rooms. Mine hosts Pete & Sue Clay.
Heritage Humber Street, Hull 01482 589846 Thursday, Friday, Saturday Nights
Public House situated a few minutes walk from Hull Town Centre, near to Hull Marina. Live Bands on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights. No stage, but a raised area facing bar, with not a lot of room for audience. Quite an easy lift through front double doors, about 20 to 30 foot to "stage" area. Manager is Craig and he books direct. Also have a Karaoke Competition each Sunday Night (starting April 2003) with a prize of £75 paid monthly to best singer. Also have a function room. Change of programme from October 2003 - now also do Sunday afternoon entertainment.
Holme on Spalding Moor Club Main Street, Holme on Spalding Moor Saturday Night
Members Club in Holme on Spalding Moor, which is a village near Market Weighton in East Yorkshire. The Club is part of the Village Hall, and it is an easy lift, although there is no stage, and the dressing room is the Snooker Room. (which will by then have been vacated) Tends to be a young audience early on, although they tend to leave and make way for an older audience. Books direct.
Howden Working Men's Club Bridgegate, Howden, Near Goole DN14 Saturday Night
Members Club situated in Howden which is a small town about 5 minutes from Goole, just off the M62 motorway. It's a poor lift, through some narrow doors, and then the length of the Concert Room (although there are no steps) to a fair sized stage with a small dressing room off-stage left. You then have to move vehicle away from doble yellow lines, although there is a Car Park behind Screetons Estate Agents about 20 yards on opposite side of road. Friday Night is a Country & Western Night, although numbers of late (April 2003) have been so poor, it may not continue for long. Start at 8.45 with 3 x 30 minute spots. Saturday is middle of the Road - with roughly the same start and finish times. SAS Agency book the club. Update October 2003 - Country Music Night discontinued for forseeable future.
Humber St. Andrew's Club Anlaby Road, Hull Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Members Club situated on Anlaby Road, about 10 minutes from centre of Hull. Artists must use live backing, other than for Country Music night on Tuesday. Backing consists of Paul Rodgers on Organ and Charlie on drums. The excellent Rena Jordan is compere. Mature audience. Reasonable lift if you are earlier enough to get spot next to crash doors, at rear of club. Through crash doors and up a couple of steps to side of stage, although it's normally easier to go through swing doors and load gear from front of stage. Leave room for compere (keep amps to right of stage) Dressing room just at side of stage, ample room for venue which almost always books solo artists. Good audience, normally well attended - normally only 2 shortish spots. Was booked by McLeod Holden until recently (Feb 2003) - now booked by Newlands Agency in Hull.
King's Arms Witham, Hull 01482 328096 Saturday Night & Sunday Afternoon
Public House on Witham (bottom of Holderness Road) about 2 minutes from centre of Hull. A little difficult to park because it's on a busy junction, but easy lift up a couple of steps and small stage is just inside the door. Smallish venue (about 50 people maximum), but after a slow start Ray and Pat seem to have got the venue something like it was when pete & Eileen had it. Ray books direct. They have a Disco on a Friday Night and a Karaoke singalong on a Sunday Night. Change of management in October 2003 - not sure whether Pub is still open. Pub still closed as at Christmas 2003.
Live @ The Lair Anlaby Road, Hull (01482 211208) Thursday - over 55 Club
